Hungary will replace the Russian "Mi" helicopters on the French-German H-225M

Hungary, as part of the modernization of its armed forces, is replacing Russian Mi-8 / Mi-17 helicopters with Airbus Helicopters H225M helicopters.

The Hungarian armed forces are switching from the Soviet Mi helicopters to the European-made H-225M Airbus helicopters. In total, the country will be delivered 16 multi-purpose helicopters equipped with a modular weapon control system HForce. Personnel will be trained to handle new models of airborne equipment.

H-225M chosen by Hungary is intended for transportation of troops and cargo, support of search and rescue operations in combat conditions, as well as special operations. Machines equipped with modern communications, avionics and four-axis autopilot. The helicopter has a significant range and carrying capacity, a spacious cockpit designed to carry up to 28 military personnel, powerful air-to-ground weapons, and electronic countermeasures. H-225M can be used in adverse weather conditions and at night.

Hungary is the ninth country to choose H-225M. The first was France, followed by Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Kuwait and Singapore.

Recall, the HForce system allows you to equip helicopters with a wide range of air-to-air and air-to-air guided and unguided munitions, a 12.7-mm machine gun, and a 20-mm cannon.
