The navigator of one of the encountered Su-34 fighter-bombers, rescued after a catastrophe in the sky over the Sea of ​​Japan, told about the details of the collision of the aircraft.

According to him, there was thick cloudiness over the flight site. For some time he was observing the wingboard, then turned his gaze to the instruments - and at that time a blow occurred. After contact, the lead aircraft increased its speed, raised its nose, but began to fall on the right wing. Then the crew ejected, and during the course of movement to the ground, he observed the dome of his commander's parachute.

Earlier, sources from the military department reported that the cause of the accident was the piloting error that the commander of the slave aircraft made in cloudy conditions.

The collision of fighter - bombers occurred on January 18 during a flight on the Sea of ​​Japan at a distance of 35 km from the coastline. All pilots performed bailouts. But during the implementation of rescue activities, only one navigator was found alive. The bodies of the dead three pilots were also found.
