The State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft law that allows conscripts who have completed training in undergraduate or specialist programs to issue another delay - for admission to the magistracy.
The author of this legislative initiative, Vice Speaker Irina Yarovaya, explained that today, due to the difference in age, by the time of graduation some recruits already use one deferment. The adoption of the proposed law will equalize them in rights with those peers who celebrate the 18th anniversary of graduation. The postponement will be available to those who have reached military age during their studies at school and wanted to continue to receive specialized secondary education.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin added that these amendments provide an opportunity for young people to carry out continuous education regardless of the date of birth.
In December 2018, the regular call-up for military service was completed. 132 thousand young people were drafted into the army, of whom 118 thousand were planned to be sent to the RF Armed Forces.
