ZIL-41047 - Soviet executive class car, which was used by the first person of the state. Is a continuation of the model 4104. Limousine 41047 is considered the last Russian car of this class.

Armored versions 4105

After the attempt on L.I. Brezhnev in 1969, government limousines began to equip armor. The 4104 family received the first sheltered transport in 1983. Developed it based on 41045.

The weight of the armored vehicle exceeded five tons. It was based on the armored capsule, which was produced by the plant in Kurgan. External differences from the standard limousine was not (despite this, the transport was given a new model "4105"). On the basis of 41047 built 14 protected machines. Some documents claim that for six copies they installed armored capsules from 41045, which did not use up their working life.

In the early 1990s, three armored limousines were sent to Germany. One of them passed fire tests by a German company, after which the remaining two entered the government special purpose garage. During the operation, they revealed shortcomings: the suspension and the brake system do not cope with the new weight, so they were sent to Russia for revision. ZIL corrected the shortcomings, giving the cars the index "41053".

Armor thickness is 8.5 millimeters. This is enough to stop the bullets with a heat-strengthened core of 7.62 mm caliber. Tests were also carried out with a Dragunov sniper rifle, which was fired with steel bullets. The test was successful. Armor withstands a grenade blast on the roof or under the car. Thick glass withstand shots hit. By security, the new model was ahead of all domestic and foreign counterparts.

Modifications ZIL-41047

On the basis of the last limousine ZIL developed several varieties:

  • 41041 - shortened version, designed for five people;
  • 41042 - a machine with medical equipment, used to deliver the first persons to the hospital;
  • 4105 - body protected armor;
  • 4107 - equipped with special communication equipment;
  • 41052 - improved armored model;
  • 41053 - modified for Germany model with an armored capsule at the base;
  • 41072 - code name - Scorpio. Used by security services of statesmen;
  • 410441 - open version for serving military parades on Red Square. Three specimens were collected that were not registered with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Two cars are located at the Likhachev plant, one was sent to the personal collection of V.F. Yanukovych. Instead of it, “41041 AMH”, performed by the private studio Atlant-Delta, was chosen to serve the parades.

Official sources say that in recent years ZiL specialists have been developing a new limousine, which will move the current president of Russia.

ZIL-41047 is a good example of the great professionalism of domestic specialists. During the years of production, transport bypassed all foreign competitors, including products of such giants as Cadillac and Rolls Royse.
