The construction of a near-moon station began in Russia. And at the moment, a global program for the orbital development of our natural satellite, called the Lunar Program Roadmap, has already been developed. The program itself is already being prepared with the assistance of the RAS.
The purpose of the program is ambitious and curious. Russia decided to restore priority in space and still beat the only American record in this area. The algorithm of actions is as follows: in 2025, the base module will be launched into the circumlunar orbit, it will become a spaceport for spacecraft arrivals from Earth, as well as a base for landing Russian cosmonauts on the lunar soil.
In the foreseeable future, near-moon modules will be tested in near-earth orbit on the basis of the ISS. In the complete set, the station for the circumlunar orbit will consist of several modules: nodal, docking, as well as motor and scientific-energy.
In addition, the construction of a permanent base on the lunar surface is also being considered.
