Flying Desk - Aero L-39 "Albatros" jet trainer

Jet training aircraft Aero L-39 "Albatros" is one of the most common training aircraft of the second half of the XX century. The machine was created taking into account the mass transition of the air force to equip with jet aircraft. The main purpose is the initial training of the technique of piloting a jet plane in various conditions. The machine is also designed to develop piloting techniques in the night and in difficult weather conditions, the acquisition and improvement of skills in air combat.

The simple and reliable design of the L-39 aircraft allows it to be operated on a massive scale in training centers, from airfields with hard and unpaved surfaces.

Development and creation of the machine L-39 "Albatros"

The work of Czechoslovak designers to create a new training machine began in the mid-60s. Increasing the speed characteristics of jet aircraft, the presence on board of sophisticated electronic equipment required the creation of a more advanced training machine. In the fall of 1968, the first prototype took to the air, after which the car began to be mass-produced. Officially, the aircraft was commissioned in 1971.

The main customers of the Czechoslovak firm Aero Vodochody for the delivery of batches of training jet aircraft were the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries. Since 1972, the aircraft has become the main training machine in the Soviet Air Force, in the air units of the Warsaw Pact countries.
