Mi-8 and Mi-17 will be assembled in Kazakhstan

A large-unit assembly of Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopters will be conducted in Kazakhstan on the basis of Aviation Repair Plant No. 405 JSC. A few days ago, an agreement was signed between the holding company "Helicopters of Russia" and the National Company Kazakhstan Engineering JSC. According to the document, it is planned to create a system for supporting the life cycle of helicopters and supplying 45 helicopter kits until 2025.

The project of opening an assembly plant in Kazakhstan involves the further development of a logistics support system for the life cycle of helicopters, as well as training of engineering and technical personnel, the Russian holding said.

Recall that Kazakhstan is one of the largest and oldest operators of Russian helicopters. The fleet of Russian-made helicopters in the country today is about 200 units. Today, the military, law enforcement and rescue departments of Kazakhstan use all the main production models of Russian Helicopters: military transport, fire-fighting and search and rescue versions of the Mi-8/17 series, Ka-32A11BC multi-purpose helicopters, and Mi-24V transport and combat helicopters , Mi-35M and heavy transport Mi-26T.
