Ukraine is training professional soldiers and officers. And instructors from Canada contribute their modest contribution to this. For three years they have prepared more than 10,000 troops for the army of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of National Defense of Canada, instructors have been in Ukraine since the beginning of 2015. During this time, they held 230 special sessions.
By the way, at the beginning of December, Colonel General of the Canadian Forces Jean-Marc Lantier arrived in Ukraine on an official visit. He inspected the level of military training and the soldiers of Ukraine and held a meeting with the generals of the Ukrainian army.
Recall that in the framework of the training project of the Canadian Forces called Unifier in Ukraine, for three years, soldiers and officers of the Ukrainian army are trained. The trainings are conducted by 200 Canadian instructor officers. Classes are held at Yavoriv training ground in the Lviv region. As it became known, the Canadian mission was extended until March 31, 2019.
As noted in the Canadian Defense Ministry, the Unifier project has nothing to do with combat training. Officers and soldiers are trained in combat tactics, logistics support, and first aid skills.
