Apaches will be replaced by hearts

American base helicopters will be replaced by "hearts." Because of this, they will become more powerful and more economical.

According to the United States Department of Defense, new electric motors from General Electric Aviation will be installed on the Black Hawk and Apache helicopters. For the construction of prototypes of engines T901-GE-900, the Pentagon has allocated the company 517 million dollars.

The new engine should replace the already-completed GE T700. A modern power plant must meet the following standards: power is 3000 hp, fuel efficiency is 25% more and work is 20% more durable. By the way, the new engine should be 1000 hp. more powerful than its predecessor.

The US Department of Defense intends to use the T901 engines in Black Hawk (Black Hawk) and Apache (Apache) helicopters. In addition, they plan to equip promising helicopters, developed under the program Future Vertical Lift (FVL).
