Orbital Russian threat

The Pentagon's Intelligence Agency has published a report stating that space satellites inspectors, intended to obtain data on the technical condition of Russian spacecraft, may have a dual purpose and be used to disable foreign space devices.

According to the US military, these satellites, like other orbiters, are able to approach other equipment in orbit to diagnose and troubleshoot their work - but also to approach with evil targets. As an example, they cite a device launched in 2017 from one of the Russian space centers. His actions during the flight did not meet the stated objectives, according to the American military.

The launch of the space platform, which was developed for the needs of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation, was performed on July 23, 2017. The main task facing it was to conduct an experiment to study the Russian orbiter using mini-satellite launched from the platform.

At the same time, the ship-inspector was undocked from the spacecraft, which is able to perform appropriate maneuvers for technical diagnostics from the minimum allowable distance.
