India dissatisfied with the reliability of the Russian "MiGs"

India asked Russia to ensure higher reliability of the fourth generation MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB fighters.

It is noteworthy that the MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB Russia supplies India since 2004. Since then, about 40 boards have already been exported to Mahatma Gandhi’s homeland. And for almost 15 years, the Indian Air Force was all arranged. However, in mid-2017, the Indian side made a request to ensure higher reliability of MiGs shipped to the country.

As a result, in the process of upgrading the aircraft, work was done to improve the reliability of the engines, radars and individual instruments that are most vulnerable to overloading.

In addition, according to manufacturers of aircraft, in the foreseeable future, of course, the question of the establishment in India of technical centers for the maintenance of Russian aircraft will arise. This is due to the fact that under the contract, the supply did not provide for the maintenance of the aircraft, which had to be paid separately.

Recall that in November 2018, India decided to abandon the use of the MiG-29K. In December 2018, India expressed reluctance to acquire the MiG-29K. But guilty of this then recognized the corporation "MiG".
