In Kaliningrad, the frigate “Admiral Butakov” launched

Kaliningrad plant "Yantar" March 2, 2018, in working order, from the floating dock launched the ship "Admiral Butakov." The frigate is the tenth ship of the modified project 11356, the fourth in a row from the series of frigates which were built for the Russian Navy and, at the same time, the seventh built at the Yantar plant. "Admiral Butakov" was entered into the dock on March 1. The project developed the "Northern Design Bureau" in St. Petersburg. Patrol ships (frigates) of project 11356, capable of destroying surface, underwater and aerial targets, they are also equipped with long-range missiles capable of inflicting fire damage on ground targets. The ship possesses the Shtil-1 anti-aircraft missile system, the Onyx anti-ship and anti-submarine complex, and the Caliber attack complex.

Characteristics of the vessel "Admiral Butakov":

Displacement - 4035 tons.
Length - 124.8 m
Width - 15.2 m
Draft - 4.2 m
Maximum travel speed - 30 knots
Crew -180 people
Autonomy: 30 days
Cruising range: 4850 miles

The frigates of project 11356 are the development of Talvar-type ships that were built in Russia for the Indian Navy. The reason for their construction was the need to transfer ships of this class to the Black Sea Fleet, since the delivery lines for the frigates of Project 22350 (heavier and more expensive) were tightened.

The Kaliningrad Yantar CCD is building six project 11356 frigates (project 11356R or 1135). With the Ministry of Defense of Russia signed two contracts for three ships each. The contract for the first three ships was signed on October 28, 2010, the second - September 13, 2011. Each contract costs 40 billion rubles. These six ships must replenish the Black Sea fleet.

With the first three ships all is well. To date, completed the ship "Admiral Grigorovich", which completed all the tests. His transfer to the Russian ChmF is scheduled for March 2018. The second vessel, the Admiral Essen, is currently undergoing State tests. The launch of the third frigate, the Admiral Makarov, took place in September 2018 and is now being completed at the Amber plant.

The fate of the entire second three frigates is uncertain. "Admiral Butakov" - the main frigate on the second contract. The second vessel “Admiral Istomin” (serial number 01361) was laid in November 2013. The laying of the last vessel, the Admiral Kornilov (serial number 01362), has not yet begun, although preparations have already begun.

The refusal to advertise the launch of "Admiral Butakova" looks logical. It was launched without a gas turbine engine. Due to the events in Ukraine, the Nikolaev GP NPKG Zorya-Mashproekt did not deliver the gas turbine power plants that are needed to complete the work on the frigates of the Russian fleet of a modified project 11356. Thus, after launching the water, completion of the second three ships will be suspended. It is planned to finish building them already on the water in 2018-2018, when domestic engines will appear.

On February 25, 2018, a press release of the Nikolaev GP NPK Zorya-Mashproekt was published, according to which the company signed a contract with Yantar PSZ in October 2012 and pledged to deliver the M7H gas turbine units in three sets. The first unit should be delivered in December 2014, the second and third - in a year, by the end of December 2018.

According to the order of the export control service of Ukraine, military goods should no longer be sent to the Russian Federation. And so the robots on request of the Kaliningrad plant were stopped. Gas turbines for the ship "Admiral Butakov" have already been manufactured, but have not passed the bench tests. And so all the equipment was sent for storage, and the customer of the Yantar PSZ was notified that the contract could not be executed due to events in the country.
