In Georgia, created the first certified company of NATO

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia announced that a combat unit, certified by NATO standards, had appeared in its troops. They were the company "Alpha", part of the 12th Light Infantry Battalion, 4th Mechanized Brigade. The document on certification was recently signed at the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces together with NATO representatives in this country.

Before the final document was approved, the said company conducted demonstration exercises at the Vaziani military training ground, during which the soldiers showed their ability to use various military equipment and weapons of various kinds. In the process of preparing for certification, which began in 2018, the said unit took part in a number of international exercises held under the auspices of NATO.

As stated by the representative of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, the formal part of the certification has now been completed, during which the company received internal and external assessment according to NATO standards. Now military personnel with sufficient combat readiness are ready to take part in the actions of the North Atlantic Alliance's rapid reaction forces, if only the leadership of the bloc deems it necessary.

The Minister of Defense of the Georgian Republic, Tina Khidasheli, also positively highlighted the Facebook event. On her page, she voiced the good news that Georgia has its own NATO company.

For your information, the process of integrating your state into the North Atlantic Alliance began in 1992. And the very desire to become a member in the country was voiced in 2006 through the mouth of Georgian parliamentarians.
