The Russian Federation is ready to expand military-technical cooperation with the Republic of the Philippines. This was stated by both sides at the international exhibition of weapons and military equipment INDO DEFENSE 2018 EXPO & FORUM, held in Indonesia.
Philippine partners have expressed interest in buying several types of weapons, including attack and transport helicopters, diesel submarines, small arms and anti-tank weapons, as well as ammunition.
The Philippines is already a consumer of Russian weapons systems. According to the agreement signed last October by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Filipino counterpart, the Russian Federation began supplying large quantities of RPG-7V2 grenade launchers and small arms, as well as army trucks, to the armed forces of the Philippines.
The list of Russian military equipment sold to Asian partners can be expanded to include patrol ships and speedboats demanded by the Philippine coast guard. Philippine navymen are also interested in submarines of Project 636 Varshavyanka.
In addition to the above, the attention of Manila was attracted by the Mi-17V-5, Mi-17Sh, Mi-35 helicopters, the products of the Kalashnikov concern and a number of other samples.
A positive factor for domestic enterprises of the military-industrial complex is the comprehensive comprehensive support of the government of the Russian Federation, aimed at promoting military equipment and weapons in the Asian segment of the global arms market.
