Norwegian drones help French intelligence

The French Ministry of Defense recently concluded a contract for the supply of several sets of Black Hornet 3 miniature UAVs from Norway to the country's armed forces. The cost of the transaction amounted to 89 million dollars.

The Black Hornet drones are individual reconnaissance complexes. That is, they are attached either to the unit of the fighters, or to each soldier individually. So that those performing a combat task might know what awaits them at the next turn. At the same time, a small-sized drone provides almost the same capabilities as larger unmanned aerial and ground vehicles.

Mass "Black Hornet 3" is only 32 grams. The device is equipped with electro-optical or infrared sensors and can be in the air for up to 25 minutes. The range of the UAV - up to 2 km, speed - 21 km / h.

Recall, "Black Hornet" - the world's smallest intelligence system based on the UAV. These drones were first bought in 2012 by the UK military for use in Afghanistan. Now the number of customers in the world is estimated at three dozen, including NATO member countries. The cost of one set of equipment is estimated at 50,000 dollars.
