In Yemen, still fighting on the T-34

As recently reported by international news agencies, the T-34-85 tank and the SU-100 self-propelled artillery mounts, which had proven themselves during the Great Patriotic War, were actively used during the armed conflict in the Republic of Yemen.

As you know, after the end of the Second World War, they were actively supplied to the countries of the socialist community. In addition, their production under license was established in Czechoslovakia.

SU-100 was used repeatedly in military conflicts in Cuba, Vietnam, Egypt, Syria and Afghanistan.

By the beginning of the civil war in Yemen, about three dozen of such self-propelled artillery installations survived, and they, like the Thirty-Four, were mostly preserved.

However, with the further growth of the internal conflict, part of the machines had to be returned to service - they were involved in battles, including urban ones.

Self-propelled veterans also feel good in the mountains, where they are attracted to direct fire at enemy positions. And often they have to act in conjunction with more modern technology, such as the T-55 and ZSU-23-4.

Currently, SU-100 self-propelled guns, in addition to Yemen, continue to be actively exploited only in the armed forces of Vietnam.
