United Instrument Making Corporation has completed the creation of a smartphone for the crews of submarines. The latest development allows to obtain information about the health status of seafarers, as well as their exact location on the vessel.
The device has its own Wi-Fi module and VHF transmitter. It is possible to conduct monitoring around the clock, and information is transmitted by ship communication. The smartphone interacts with biometric sensors installed on the human body, tracking a variety of indicators: starting with the pulse and ending with the radiation background.
High quality of communication is maintained, not only while on the open sea, but at considerable depths. The exact location of any crew member is shown with the minimum possible deviations. In the event of an emergency, the device independently generates a special signal sent over a separate emergency range channel, and the rescue team is called.
A little earlier, smart bracelets were developed, the functionality of which is quite similar with a smartphone. Now these bracelets are included in the basic set of equipment for the crew of the "Ash" submarine. They use software-defined radio technology, where tasks are solved by software, not hardware. This principle makes it possible to significantly reduce the overall weight. Achieved a compact and convenient size, while not at all losing useful properties.
The bracelet performs an analysis of various indicators of health and signals if necessary. Monitoring the health of the crew of the submarine is in priority, because the crew is a huge responsibility. A timely determination of deviations in the physical state of health will help to avoid many serious consequences. In the future, it is possible to equip with similar bracelets and crews of other types of boats.
