Russian military will lose wool earflaps

Russian servicemen will lose their wool caps and fur hat. Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on replacing this element of the winter uniform of soldiers with caps. Jan Lubnina and Anastasia Roizman began to study this issue for the publication Komersant.

Hats with earflaps have been found on the heads of servicemen for over a hundred years. The first they began to wear in military units of Kolchak in 1913. For all this time, the design itself has remained virtually unchanged. Dmitry Medvedev by his decree made a real fashionable coup. The reasons for such a decision are not yet known, but many agree that in this case the image of the Russian soldier needs to be made and other changes.

Shape changes

The military often spoke rather negatively in the direction of the new form, which had a huge number of shortcomings. The footwear was falling apart for several days, and the uniform called the “figure” was not sufficiently insulated for winter.

The most serious changes in the appearance of the modern Russian soldier were made in 2010. It was believed that Valentin Yudashkin had a hand in this project. The soldiers' overcoats became narrower, and sweaters were issued for the officers.

They abolished boots with footcloths, which have already become a symbol of the Russian army. Many of the military spoke very negatively towards such changes, because the quality of the new form left much to be desired. Around the same time, Yudashkin made a denial of participation in the development of a new form.

Image of a russian soldier

The image of the Russian military loses to colleagues from other countries quite strongly. We have no fashion accessories. Director of PR company ProAct Media Anatoly Sautin said: “Each form was created to become reliable and durable, because soldiers have to face difficult climatic and natural situations. But time changes, therefore the image of the military needs to be updated. The form should look more attractive, emphasizing the best sides of men.

Based on the words of the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, hats with earflaps will not be withdrawn. Changes touch only titles in documents. Also, the military will no longer be familiar with the term "shirt", instead they will use the "jersey".
