According to the developers, the AK-308 is interesting as a combat weapon, since there are very few assault rifles in such a caliber.
In addition, it is possible that the new machine will be claimed by hunters for the reason that it uses one of the main hunting cartridges.
Recall, AK-308 was presented by the Kalashnikov concern in August 2018. The machine gun uses a 7.62 x 51 mm cartridge, a standard NATO rifle ammunition. Magazine capacity - 20 rounds, the mass of weapons with an empty magazine - 4.3 kg, total length 880-940 mm.
In addition, the AK-308 uses a diopter sight and a folding butt, adjustable in length, and a bayonet can be mounted on a weapon.
