England puts on nuclear-powered submarines

The UK is investing $ 510 million in nuclear submarines. British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson announced an increase in funding in the amount of $ 510 million for the Dreadnought program.

The statement was made during the presentation of the new academy of concern BAE Systems, which will enhance the qualifications of the crews of the submarines of the royal fleet over the next two decades.

An investment of $ 510 million will provide more than 8,000 jobs in the UK.

During his visit to the BAE Systems facility in Barrow-in-Furness, he also told the second Dreadnought submarine (HMS Dreadnought), called HMS Valiant.

“Next year marks half a century since British nuclear submarines began patrolling the waters in response to the danger posed by the Cold War, and the world is again faced with a multitude of growing threats,” said Defense Minister Gavin Williamson.

The last ship, which was called HMS Valiant, was the second nuclear submarine of the Royal Navy. Launched in 1963, she took part in the first tactical exercises of the fleet under the Arctic ice and played an important role in the war with Argentina over the Falkland Islands.
