Digital radio relay station-hardware R-416GM - the eyes and ears of the troops in modern conditions

The R-416GM digital radio relay station is a universal mobile radar station specially designed to improve the efficiency of radio relay communication units in the field. The mobile complex allows you to significantly expand the horizon of visibility of objects, to increase the efficiency of the work of the elements of the command and staff work of military formations.

Design features and mass production of the station R-416GM

The development of a digital radio-relay communication system for the needs of the modern army began in early 2000. The first attempts to create a mobile radar station showed the need to create several versions at once. The new station should be able to transmit digital information streams in three directions with the ability to encode the transmitted signal.

The complex was developed at the same time by several enterprises and institutes in close cooperation at the Military Academy of Communications and with the Central Scientific Research Institute of Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

In 2005, the communications troops received the first production models that were intensively used in the field. After the technical defects were eliminated on the first production vehicles, the digital radio relay station R-416GM based on the KAMAZ vehicle went into mass production. The production capacity of Russian enterprises is 50-70 cars per year.

Operating frequency bands:

  • from 5.6 to 6.2 GHz;
  • from 7.9 to 8.4 GHz.

The microwave signal power at the transmitter output is from 20 to 30 dBm.

Nominal assignment of intermediate frequency 70 MHz modems.

Minimum signal levels at the receiver output at point B, dBm, not more than:

  • at the minimum transmission rate - 68 dBm minutes;
  • at the maximum transmission rate - 85 dBm minutes.

The power consumed by DRRS provides:

  • automatic selection of packets based on the processing of received information in two working trunks (from the trunk, providing reception without errors);
  • Automatic minimization of the number of errors based on the processing of received information in two trunks working with errors.

The hardware Р-411ГМ stands on the equipment of the radio engineering divisions of the communications troops of the RF Armed Forces. The need for such equipment in the army - 150-200 cars. The only fact of the use of the hardware R-411GM in a military conflict is the work of the liaison units of the Russian troops in Syria.
