LU 213 - French-made defensive grenade. In terms of its design and mechanics, it is more like some kind of home-made grenade, rather than a serial product, the plant produces. Body with ribs made of durable plastic, with a charge weighing about 100 grams and 230 steel balls inside the body. However, engineers from France thought that this amount of damaging elements would be, to put it mildly, not enough, so they decided to place inside the grenade a steel wire with notches, which when detonated scatters into pieces. It is believed that grenades of this type have a more uniform field of fragments, compared with conventional high-explosive grenades.
