Latest Microscopic Drone

A representative of the United Instrument-Making Corporation told the Interfax news agency that development was underway on a large batch of unmanned aerial vehicles. Their main advantages will be the small size, which will allow to perform many military tasks.

"Based on specific tasks, meteorological conditions and territorial factors, a separate aircraft or a whole group is selected. They will be comparable in size to dragonflies. The drone easily fits on the palm, representing a reduced copy of a conventional drone," the corporation shared his impressions.

The small size of these aircraft are key to monitoring strategic and important sites. It is also possible to use them in reconnaissance, anti-terrorist and rescue operations.

Known benefits

UAVs during flight make very quiet sounds, there is the possibility of monitoring the temperature distribution of the studied area, as well as taking photos or video. Information on the base is transmitted in HD-resolution. More detailed specifications are not disclosed yet.

The latest development will allow you to remain unnoticed during the observation, collecting the necessary information, therefore, in other countries similar aircraft are already being developed, which allow us to conduct covert shooting. In the United States of America, microscopic drones are being created that look like various insects and birds. Using disguise, as the creators say, drones can move around like real living creatures, flying, crawling, hanging in the air or sitting on a branch.

Fight drones

Not only is the creation of such aircraft, but also the fight against them. In Russia, there was even a separate military unit - the special forces of electronic warfare. They are working on their skills for serving the terms of military unmanned aerial vehicles. The unit is engaged in small drones and civilian copters. For the destruction of heavy drone air defense troops, videoconferencing, and the small ones are best fought through the destruction of the communication channel with control.
