In our era of precision weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite navigation, it may seem that the value of conventional small arms has decreased slightly. This opinion is erroneous, especially with regard to weapons for special shooters - snipers. Today, almost all the leading arms states of the world are developing their own types of sniper weapons. Russia, with its rich traditions of development and production of small arms, is no exception.

During the years of the Patriotic War, the Red Army did not have a special sniper rifle (short of the rather rare modified trilineas with a choke and a special bolt handle). Sniper sights were installed on the best samples of the trilinek and SVT. The situation in the German army was similar. After the war, in the late 50s, the famous Dragunov self-loading rifle (SVD) was created, which still remains in service (although not all weapon experts are ready to call it a purely sniper rifle).

In Western countries, such rifles are called "weapons of support for improved shooting accuracy." Anyway, you need high-precision sniper weapons of long range. Especially acute need for it is experienced by special services and special forces.

In armed conflicts, as well as during the special operations of our day, snipers play a very important role. For the manufacture of sniper weapons used the latest technology and the most "advanced" materials. A modern sniper rifle is a costly and effective complex consisting of the rifle itself, an aiming device, accessories and special ammunition.

Not so long ago, a unique and high-precision T-5000 rifle was created in Russia, which can be a decisive weapon for the most professional shooters.

The history of the creation of the complex T-5000

The overwhelming majority of Russian weapons are produced at state-owned enterprises. Russia is fundamentally different from most of the NATO countries that procure weapons and equipment from private companies. However, a new high-precision sniper rifle was created by a Russian company created with private investors. Today, Russian law enforcement agencies mainly use foreign sniper systems, so the appearance of the domestic T-5000 rifle has attracted increased attention.

In 2011, Promtekhnologii opened a new high-tech weapons production in Moscow; this plant was named Orsis. The company initially specialized in the production of hunting and sporting weapons, but its designers also engaged in the development of special precision sniper systems, intended primarily for security forces (FSB, FSO, MVD).

The general director of the company has become a person who knows well the features of their products. Alexey Sorokin is a former USSR master of sports in bullet shooting. It was he who became the chief designer and ideologist of the new rifle, it was this man who made the first sketches of the weapon with his own hands.

At the end of the same year, the new sniper complex ORSIS T-5000 with unique technical characteristics was introduced, which immediately interested the professionals.

Using the T-5000, the control team "A" of the CSF FSB won a prestigious international competition. Eu rifle can be purchased in a civilian version at a price of almost 400 thousand rubles.

In addition, the relevant services of foreign countries almost immediately became interested in this sniper complex. It may very well be that the T-5000 sniper rifle will soon become the world-famous weapon brand.

There is information that in only 2018 the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation planned to purchase from 700 to 1,400 T-5000 rifles.

T-5000 rifle design

The ORSYS T-5000 rifle is a high-precision sniper weapon with manual reloading. The slide is sliding, longitudinally turning. It is locked on two lugs. The barrel, bolt and trigger mechanism T-5000 is made of special grades of stainless steel.

On the trunk there are valleys to give it extra rigidity and more intense cooling of the metal. On the muzzle of the trunk of the T-5000 there is a thread to install the muzzle brake-compensator.

The trigger mechanism of the weapon has an original design. It is made of special steel, and the trigger cover is made of titanium alloy. The mechanism is completely isolated from external influences, its attachment allows for quick replacement even in the most adverse conditions.

The trigger mechanism is adjustable for the trigger force (from 900 to 1500 grams), as well as for the free movement of the trigger. On the T-5000, you can install the trigger of any geometry.

The fuse has three positions. He can completely block the bolt and trigger, or block the drummer and leave the bolt free (which is necessary when disassembling the weapon).

Power rifle comes from the store with a capacity of five and ten rounds. The magazine is inserted into the neck, which is an integral part of the lodge.

The stock of weapons is made of durable and lightweight aluminum alloy. The use of this material increases the strength of the structure, but at the same time gives a weight gain - the T-5000 weighs less than its foreign counterparts.

For convenience of transportation butt T-5000 can be folded. It is made of steel of special strength, completed with a back pad of special rubber and an emphasis under the cheek. The butt plate and the stop can be adjusted in height. The length of the butt is regulated only by a special lining under the butt pad.

The stock and receiver are separated from each other by a special layer impregnated with epoxy resin. This allows you to better distribute the load. During the modifications on the forearm, a plastic nozzle appeared, allowing you to fire while standing, kneeling or sitting. Made of plastic and pistol grip.

The T-5000 rifle is designed for long range shooting, so it has no open aiming devices. The Picatinny rail is placed on the receiver, which allows mounting various types of optical sights on the rifle. The manufacturer recommends the use of American sights "NightForce" or domestic sight "Daedalus". On the receiver there are attachments for installing the night nozzle to the sight.

At the front of the forearm there is a bipod mount of the "Harris Bipod" type, which can be adjusted in height and folded.

The T-5000 rifle is produced in two versions: chambered for 308 Winchester (7.62х51 mm) and 338 Lapua Magnum (8.6х70 mm). These munitions are well proven, they are widespread, which improves the commercial prospects of the rifle. But it's not only that. The current situation with special ammunition for sniper weapons in Russia is very unsightly.

Causes of accuracy T-5000

Accuracy of any weapon (and especially sniper) depends on the quality of its manufacture. From the T-5000, you can fire at any time of day, in all weather conditions. Its accuracy is only half an angular minute at a distance of five hundred meters. At a distance of three hundred meters, five shots fall into a circle with a diameter of 4.3 cm. This is a unique indicator for serial weapons. What is the secret of success?

The accuracy of the shot depends on a large number of factors. Especially important is the processing of the trunk, it must be made with minimal tolerances. The processing error of the barrel in one micron allows to achieve almost perfect accuracy. But to achieve such indicators on an industrial scale is very difficult.

Rifles with this level of processing are usually done individually, on order, and they are very expensive. To achieve such high quality in mass weapons is very difficult. In "Promtechnology" for the manufacture of the trunk using the method of "single-pass cutting." The equipment for this technological operation has been created in our country, because such machines are not currently supplied to Russia.

The shutter, its design and quality of its manufacture also seriously affect the accuracy of the shot. The design of the bolt group of the T-5000 rifle is such that it allows you to avoid clicking before the shot, which also affects the accuracy of aiming.

In addition, the adjustment of the descent allows you to make it smoother and most convenient for the shooter. The bolt group of the Russian rifle turned out so successful that European and American weapons manufacturers are already actively buying it.

External metal parts of the rifle are covered with a special ceramic coating, which increases their wear resistance and significantly extends the service life of the weapon.

Heavy cartridges used on the T-5000, can effectively hit a target from a distance of 600 to 1000 meters. This requires the use of more advanced optics, which, moreover, must normally withstand the high loads associated with powerful recoil. The Russian Daedal rifle scope fully meets these requirements and is not inferior to the best German and American counterparts. In addition, he seriously wins over his foreign competitors in the "price-quality" ratio.
