Americans plan to turn the F-15 into a "squire" for fifth-generation fighters

F-15 can be called a real "workhorse" of the US Air Force. And, apparently, in the USA they plan to exploit these machines for a long time. Information portal businessinsider.com reported that Boeing Corporation has developed a new modification of the aircraft that could become a real "squire" for the F-22 and F-35 stealth types.

Flying arsenal for the "invisible"

In the coming years, the US Air Force Fighter Park will consist of fourth and fifth generation vehicles. Designers are busy with their constant improvement and the creation of new modifications. For example, a variant of the deck-based aircraft, previously designated F / A-18 XT, was previously presented. Now, Boeing experts have taken up the F-15 fighter. The military was presented a new version of the aircraft with more advanced radar, electronics and protection system.

However, this is not the point: Boeing not only offered the military a new fighter with more advanced characteristics, but a real partner for fifth-generation vehicles. It is planned that the new F-15, carrying more than twenty air-to-air missiles, is capable of the function of a flying arsenal for the F-22 and F-35. The fact is that fighters "stealth" carry weapons in the internal compartments, the volume of which is limited. And with the use of external suspensions, the visibility of the aircraft increases significantly.
