Airbus A319 passenger plane - review and specifications

The Airbus A319 is a somewhat shortened (in two rows of seats) versions of the Airbus A320 from the Airbus Industrie concern. Its operation is conducted from 1999 to the present.

Overview of the A319 cabin layout and location of the best spots.

The Airbus A319 is capable of accommodating from 124 passengers with a two-class cabin layout to 156 passengers in a single-class. In our time, the most common variant of the A319 with a two-class layout, so it makes sense to consider it.

In front of the passenger compartment is a business class. Business class seats are the best: they are equipped with soft seats that can fold enough so that you can sleep (but not 180 degrees) during the flight, the distance between the seats is also large enough to stretch your legs. The menu here is also better than the economy class, and the choice is wider. Business class seats usually occupy the ranks with numbers from 1 to 5 (according to the scheme of the passenger cabin of the aircraft). The passage here is quite wide, and the seats are arranged according to the “2-2” scheme.

First row chairs have some special features. They are located directly next to the outbuildings and toilets. This means that there are possible queues, as well as the bustle caused by the movement of passengers and attendants. In addition, the light is constantly on here, which at night can cause some inconvenience to rest.

Behind the business class is an economy class lounge. The places here are, of course, not so comfortable, but nevertheless, they are also very soft and comfortable, and the distance between the seats is about 80 cm. The passage in the economy class is narrower, and the places are arranged according to the “3-3” scheme. This means that passengers on the ground, marked with letters C and D, may experience discomfort due to the movement of personnel and passengers along the aisle.

The best for economy class are places located in row 8 (according to the scheme) and designated by letters B, C, D, and E. This is due to the fact that they are located near the emergency exit, which causes more space here - after all, nothing should interfere with the maximum free evacuation of passengers in case of need. As for seats A and F of the eighth row, they are just as good, but slightly “shifted”, which can cause some inconvenience to passengers. Also among the best places for economy class (but with a number of reservations) are the places of the sixth row. They are located right next to the partition separating the business class and economy class, which means that no one can tilt the seat back in front. However, there are special devices for children's cradles, and passengers with children are usually located on these places. It is this fact that can become a serious problem for those who want to relax during the flight. In addition, folding tables for seats of the sixth row are mounted directly into the armrests of the chairs.

Not the best choice for economy class are places in the 7th row (according to the diagram). The reason for such a verdict is that behind these places are emergency exits, which significantly limits the possibility of rejecting the seats back, or even excludes it. That is why people who want a good rest during the flight should take into account this specificity when booking tickets. Also not very successful are the places located in the 20th row and marked with letters C and D. Their inconvenience is explained by their location in the rear part of the economy class cabin right near the central passage. It is known that behind the economy class places there are service rooms and toilets, which means that the queues here are almost inevitable. For the same reason, the most unfortunate are the rear seats, 21 rows.

Modifications A319

In addition to the standard Airbus A319-100, there are the following modifications of the aircraft. These are the Airbus A319LR, the Airbus A319CJ and the Airbus A319ACJ.

Airbus A319LR equipped with additional fuel tanks. This allows you to increase the distance of the flight by almost 2000 km - up to 8300 kilometers.

Airbus A319CJ and A319ACJ they are business planes equipped for more comfortable transportation of only 39 passengers (in fact, the aircraft cabin has a single-class layout - only first class). The presence of additional fuel tanks and an improved on-board electronics system increases the range for these modifications to 12,000 km.

Device and characteristics Airbus A319

Airbus A319 - narrow-body passenger aircraft, nizkoplan with single-fin vertical tail. The power plant of the aircraft is represented by two turbofan engines, the model of which may depend on the modification and year of manufacture of the aircraft. The A319 is equipped with the French onboard electronics complex EFIS. This complex provides the necessary navigation data for the crew, as well as information about failures on six displays.

Conclusion

The Airbus A319 is more a variant of the Airbus A320, created by the concern Airbus Industrie, than a separate, independent model. However, this aircraft also has its own modifications, which make it possible to speak of it as a base model - and very successful. So, to date, the Airbus A319 is the second most popular aircraft among the A320 family, constituting a worthy competition to aircraft of the same Boeing class.
