The Russian portable mortar 2B25 is the latest development for special forces, which won the prestigious award. JSC TsNII "Burevestnik" received this award from the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Engineers and other employees of the company engaged in the development of these weapons were awarded the Nizhny Novgorod Prize in the category "Industry".
The mortar produced by highly qualified specialists of the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" was created for special units of the army of the Russian Federation. During the firing minimizes the possibility of unmasking the point of the shot, which is the most important problem of weapons of this type. This was made possible through the use of the latest fragmentation shot technology, which locks the gases released by gunpowder into the shanks of the mines. When shooting, no flames are emitted, no smoke is visible and a shock wave is not created. The noise level during the shot does not exceed the performance of automata with silencers.
With all its capabilities, the mortar can be transferred to any position without disassembly into its component parts. The small size and weight of this mortar allow one person to move with it; previously, at least two soldiers were required to carry such weapons. Such qualities are simply necessary for the lightning and imperceptible use of weapons, which is the most important condition for the work of the special forces. Good mobility of a mortar can easily be used to create the effect of a powerful fire attack, creating a demoralization effect on enemy units.
It is known that in other countries the development and production of similar weapons is under way, but the brainchild of the Central Research Institute Burevestnik surpasses the competitors in almost all parameters. A 2B25 mortar not only has more destructive power, but a much larger range of shots, not to mention the weight and size. The fire can be carried out on targets located at a distance of 100-1200 meters, the elevation angle is from +45 to +85 degrees, the angle of rotation from -4 to +4 degrees. With the rearrangement of the carriage, the viewing angles are 360 degrees. The weight of the mortar does not exceed 13 kilograms. For maintenance and firing a calculation of two people is enough. Up to 15 shots per minute. For installation, you can use the soil of varying hardness, does not matter the time of day and climatic conditions.
The main purpose is to defeat the enemy both in open space and in special field shelters. It is possible to fire from any position, whether it is closed or open. Being in service with special forces, the use of a mortar is possible during counter-terrorism operations. The weapon was tested in extreme temperature conditions from - 50 to + 50 ° C.
